About Us

The conference will be jointly organized by National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali; Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB), Mohali; Indian Society for Plant Physiology (ISPP), New Delhi; Plant Tissue Culture Association of India (PTCA-I), Lucknow; International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi and ICAR-National Institute of Plant Biotechnology(ICAR-NIPB), New Delhi.

The theme of the conference is highly relevant to agri-food and nutrition research and plant molecular biology and biotechnology in particular. The conference envisages to bring together international experts and young researchers in the areas of agriculture, food, and nutrition biotechnology, and genome editing. The theme of the conference is also pertinent to inspire young students and researchers considering the fact that food and nutrition security is a global demand and advanced biotechnology tool such as genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 has potential to achieve these goals in a sustainable manner.

The conference will be jointly organized by

  • National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI)
National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India situated at Mohali, Punjab, India. The research at the institute is focused to harness the potential of contemporary tools in the area of agriculture, food and nutritional biotechnology so as to provide sustainable and novel solutions for ensuring food and nutrition security. The details about the institution are available at  https://nabi.res.in.
  • Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing CIAB)
Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB) is an autonomous institute of the DBT, located in Mohali. The institute undertakes R&D mainly in secondary agriculture and bioprocessing for value-additions using different types of bioresources. The details are available at the website (http://www.ciab.res.in).
  • Indian Society for Plant Physiology (ISPP)
The Indian Society for Plant Physiology (ISPP) is one of the oldest academic societies in India, serving in the field of Plant Physiology. The society is a member of Global Plant Council, a coalition of plant and crops societies from across the globe. The main focus of the society is to bring plant scientists together to work synergistically towards solving the pressing problems facing humankind. It also publishes the journal, Plant Physiology Reports and proceedings for advancement of agricultural research and development. The details are available at the website (http://www.ispponline.org).
  • Plant Tissue Culture Association of India (PTCA-I).
The Plant Tissue Culture Association of India (PTCA (I)) is an elite body of Plant Tissue Culture Scientists. The meeting of the association is coupled to a symposium on a theme related to plant tissue culture. This event thus brings together not only the members, but also the representatives from the academia, industry and research institution to present and exchange achievements and views  in plant tissue culture. The details are available at the website (http://www.ptcai.in).
  • International Centre For Genetic Engineering And Biotechnology (ICGEB)
International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) is a premiere intergovernmental organisation. It has several state-of-the-art laboratories, in Trieste, Italy, New Delhi, India and Cape Town, South Africa. It forms an interactive network with almost 70 Member States, with operations aligned to those of the United Nations System. It plays a key role in Biotechnology promoting Research excellence, Training, and Technology Transfer to industry, to contribute in concrete terms to sustain able global development. The details are available at the website (https://www.ic geb.org/location/newdelhi).
  • ICAR-National Institute for Plant Biotechnology (NIPB)
National Institute for Plant Biotechnology (NIPB) is a research institution of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The institute was founded in 1985 as the  Biotechnology Centre of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) for molecular biology and biotechnology research in crop plants. It has been entrusted with the responsibility of developing new tools and techniques and to deliver breakthrough in biotechnology for crop improvement. The details are available at the website (https://nipb.icar.gov.in)
